Paul O’Kane MSP has co hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning in Holyrood to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of Macmillan’s annual Big Coffee Morning held each September.
The Labour MSP was joined by Labour colleagues Carol Mochan and the Party Leader and Deputy Anas Sarwar and Jackie Baillie in hosting the event.
Commenting Paul O’Kane said:
“We held a Macmillan Coffee morning last year and it was very successful so we wanted to hold another”
“The McMillan coffee morning is such an important event held each year in so many communities and workplaces across Scotland and the UK so it is absolutely fitting that we held one in the Scottish Parliament”
“It was great to see a lot of my fellow MSPs donate to the cause not just with money but also home baking”
“My dad deserves the credit for the cakes I brought in, both were homemade and they got a great review from my colleagues”
“It’s all for a great cause that will never stop requiring support from people for people, so we just wanted to ensure we could play our part”
“It was a particularly nice way to spend the morning just before heading into the chamber for what would be a much more heated afternoon at First Minister’s Questions”
